Quichuas Amazónicos
Son entre 30.000 y 40.000 habitantes, divididos en
tres subgrupos: Napu Runa Quichuas del Alto Napo
y Canelos Quichuas, ubicados en las provincial del
Napo y Pastaza. Hablan el Quichua, presente en la
Amazonia antes de la conquista como lengua de
contacto e introducida desde la Sierra por las
misiones a partir del siglo XVII.
The Amazonian Quichuas
number between 30,000
and 40,000 inhabitants
divided into two
subgroups: Napu Quichuas
Runa of the Upper Napo
river and the Canelos Quichuas, located in the province of Pastaza. They
speak the Quichua language which was present in the Amazonia before the conquest as a trade
language and introduced from the Andean mountains in the seventeenth century by Catholic
missionaries.
